The Amazon Phone Tool is a sort of internal directory that Amazon uses to help employees navigate around the business, and find information needed to contact colleagues. Another feature of Phone Tool – something that I believe is an essential element of Amazon’s Culture – is the ability of employees to collect and display the flair they have amassed in the form of Phone Tool Awards or Phone Tool Icons. Anyway, I was recently experimenting with an audio feature of Phone Tool that helps foster inclusivity by allowing employees to demonstrate how to correctly pronounce their names. Here’s mine:
